Visiting Mom & Greg and Grandma... and the dogs!

This was our first visit to Greg and Mom's house with Apollo tagging along. He got to meet his father, Shadow, and Maggie! Shadow and Apollo became the best of friends... Maggie, on the other hand, not so much. We got to see Grandma's new house, which isn't too far away from Mom & Greg. We also got to meet Julia and David, Greg's parents, who literally live next door (although "next door" is several acres away). They cooked dinner for us and made us feel very welcome in their lovely home. Thanks again everyone, we had a great time.

Oh yes, one more thing... I'll mention that Daniel received a bit of an injury from Mom (not on purpose, we know mom) during our stay. She felt so horrible... and I feel bad even mentioning it, but it will explain why I took a picture of a bandaged foot, hehe. He was very well taken care of by his wife and Mother-in-law, though. :)

Mom got the dogs to perform tricks for treats. Apollo was very attentive... hehe.

Mom was nice and gave Apollo a treat since he doesn't know how to "high five." We're going to keep it that way, as he'd probably tackle me if we taught him. He gets very excited at the prospect of treats and starts performing all of his tricks at once. Sometimes it's quite a sight to behold.

Shadow and Apollo had never played with one another, nor had they played tug o' war with another dog before. They enjoyed themselves thoroughly!

You can definitey tell they're related.

Daniel before the toe incident.

If you look closely, you can see two things here : a bunch of dirty paw prints on the glass door (compliments of Apollo, who was VERY upset that we left him outside while we visited Julia and Greg) and Apollo's nose in the corner about to ring the bell... apparently being outside wasn't so scary after all.

Enjoying a game of cribbage. Mom and Greg taught us how to play... although I'm not quite sure that I still have the hang of it. Hehe.

Aren't they cute?

Shadow with his favorite toy.

Daniel after his toe incident. We kept his toe elevated for several reasons for the rest of the trip, but mainly so the dogs wouldn't step on it. His toe met the corner of a trailer door. I won't go into detail... If  want to know the extent of the injury, ask Daniel. He has a nice picture of what happened.

Apollo having a blast in Greg's back yard.

Shadow was bouncing up and down like crazy, waiting for Daniel to throw the ball. I didn't catch a good one of him in the air. That dog can jump, though!

Father and Son romping in the yard with the frisbee.

Hehe, this is my favorite picture of the doggies.

Daniel passed out on the couch. We gave him vicodin for his poor toes and he swiftly zonked out. He managed very well for the rest of our visit (even without the vicodin, hehe). What a trooper.
